Cosmetic Dentistas
There are many dental procedures that are included in cosmetic dentistry. The following is a brief overview of some of the cosmetic procedures performed by Dr. Parker.
Over the twenty years of care that I have received from Dr. Parker I have had a number of procedures performed: routine teeth cleaning, cavity fills, tooth extractions, chipped tooth repairs, sealants, deep cleanings for my gums, whitening, and most recently some orthodontic work. Aside from the warm "hellos" and sincere "We look forward to seeing you in a few months" the one thing I really appreciate about Dr. Parker and his staff is that they always make time to answer every question and explain every procedure.

Tooth Whitening
Tooth Whitening is a very popular cosmetic treatment. We offer two types of whitening procedures. Zoom - our in-office treatment is done in the dental chair. This procedure is fast, so it saves time for the patient. As a bonus, we include custom fabricated trays that you can wear at home. The same results can be achieved over time by using in-home whitening trays that we custom make in our office. We are proud to offer whitening for life to our loyal patients who keep their appointed cleaning appointments. In the Whitening For Life program we make your custom fit trays for a nominal fee and you receive whitening gel 2 times a year at no additional cost.
Porcelain Veneers/Dental Bonding
Porcelain veneers and dental bonding are used to correct broken teeth and mask discoloration or blemishes on the teeth. Porcelain veneers and bonding are minimally invasive and both create beautiful smiles. The difference between the procedures is that veneers last longer because they are created with stain resistant porcelain in a lab. We are proud to use an award winning local lab to help us create beautiful lifelike smiles. Dental bonding is done in the chair with a tooth colored material that is bonded to the tooth, shaped and sculpted to look natural. In both techniques, Dr. Parker starts with the desired result in mind. From custom molds of your teeth, we create a wax up of the way the teeth will look when your veneers are completed. From the wax up molds, we make a guide, so we can preserve as much of the tooth as possible in the preparation stage. We can also test the design with temporary veneers in your mouth.
Tooth Contouring
If a tooth has an unusual shape or is too long, we can reshape the tooth to make it more symmetrical.
Fillings
We have not used silver fillings in our office for many years. There are better materials that bond to the tooth and match the tooth color. Dr. Parker takes great care in placing tooth colored filling. He uses a 20 step process to ensure that the fillings look natural and life like, feel good and have little if any sensitivity, and last a long time.
Crowns/ Bridges
The crowns and bridges that we create in our practice are made with acute attention to detail. Every case is custom made by Dr. Parker with the aid of our local U.S labs that use the finest materials. They are made of porcelain, or a combination of porcelain and precious metal sub structure for strength. We may recommend long lasting gold on the very back teeth where porcelain can fracture.
